Case-Solving Night: A Spooky Legal Challenge!
Join us for our second event of the year - Case-Solving Night - a hands-on workshop designed to give future law students a real taste of legal thinking. Team up with fellow students to unravel a Halloween-themed mock case. It’s the perfect mix of collaboration, critical thinking, and festive fun. Don’t miss this chance to step into the shoes of a lawyer and solve the mystery!
This event is taking place on October 9th from 6 to 9 PM at the CPA Lounge, located on the 7th floor of the Ted Rogers School of Management.

This session will provide an overview of the J.D. program at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law, including information on admissions, what differentiates us, and our unique IPC program. There will be a time in the end for any questions you may have!
This session takes place on October 8th from 8 to 9 AM virtually.

This guided tour is hosted on October 16th from 12 to 1 PM.
Note: Tours are offered monthly on the third Thursday of the month beginning at 11 a.m. and run from 45 minutes to an hour, including time for questions.

Winnipeg Triple-Shooting (2010)
On October 23, 2010, a shocking triple shooting occurred in Winnipeg, Manitoba, leaving the city shaken. Three victims were shot, two men were killed and a 13-year-old girl was seriously injured. Despite the widespread investigation and community fear, the shooter was never found. Local organizers still host “Safe Halloween” events sparked by the tragedy, hoping to prevent further violence on the holiday.

Amber Tuccaro (Edmonton, 2010)
Amber Tuccaro was a young Indigenous woman who vanished after accepting a ride near Edmonton. Her remains were found in Leduc County in 2012, but her murderer was never found. The case continues to represent failures in protecting Indigenous women.

Barry and Honey Sherman Double Homicide (Toronto, 2017)
In 2017, billionaire couple Barry and Honey Sherman were discovered strangled by belts, side-by-side beside their mansion's indoor pool, in what realtors initially thought was a bizarre Halloween display. Despite high-profile investigations and suspicion that the couple may have had enemies, no arrests have been made and the mystery persists, casting a long shadow over Toronto’s wealthy enclave.

The Unsolved Murder of Samantha Tayleen Berg (Edmonton, 2005)
Samantha Tayleen Berg, 19, was found frozen under a mound of snow in an Edmonton parking lot in January 2005. She had worked in the city’s sex trade and had registered with Project KARE, a task force for missing and murdered high-risk women. Her death was suspicious and remains unsolved, symbolizing ongoing dangers to vulnerable women in Edmonton.
