Truth and Reconciliation Day

Throughout Canada, September 30th marks the day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day honours the survivors of residential schools, the children who never returned home, and the enduring strength of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities. Wearing orange on this day honours the spirit of Phyllis Webstad’s story and raises awareness of the impacts of colonial systems still felt today. The day encourages all Canadians to reflect on history, acknowledge ongoing harm, and commit to building respectful relationships for a more equitable future.
