As we observe Remembrance Day on November 11th, we honour the courage and sacrifices of the men and women who have served in Canada’s armed forces. Originally known as Armistice Day, this occasion marks the end of the First World War and offers an opportunity to remember all those who have defended our nation in times of conflict and peace. In Canada, wartime legislation such as the War Measures Act and the National Defence Act helps maintain order and provides essential support to our military personnel and their families. These measures reflect our nation’s ongoing commitment to protecting freedom and ensuring the well-being of those who serve. As we reflect on their sacrifices, let us take a moment to express our gratitude and continue to support our veterans and active service members who safeguard our country.
